German side Schalke are struggling against the tide, as they must overturn a 2-0 deficit against Manchester United in the Champions League semi-finals, but they have been boosted by the possible return of striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar.
Huntelaar, 27, had been in decent form for the club since his arrival from AC Milan but picked up a knee injury in February and has been missing from action ever since.
The match against United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night was thought to be too soon for the Dutch international, but a report in Bild suggests he will make the travelling party and could play some role in the game.
Key defender Benedikt Howedes is also expected to return to the Schalke side, having missed the first leg and last weekend's league defeat against Bayern Munich due to injury.
Howedes told Goal.com: "We wanted to make up for our mistakes from last week, but we were unable to do so. We learned a lot from the match against Bayern though.
"We shouldn't shy away from making a tackle whenever needed and have to be consistent in our defending. We have learned from our mistakes and I'm sure that we'll put in a good performance in the away match against Manchester United."
